Gafieira: Brazilian Ballroom
Music and Dance. The term "gafieira" comes
from the beginning of the 20th
century to describe the dance
halls of the working class neighborhoods
of Rio de Janeiro. A truly unique
form of dance music evolved,
with its dazzling arrangements
and instrumentation. Arrive early
